A 2016 study confirmed that the probiotics found in the mother are, in fact, living organisms. However, unless you're buying refrigerated probiotics, it's important to note that the spores in shelf-stable ACV sit at room temperature—sometimes for an unknown length of time—and may or may not still be alive. Without specific lab testing, there’s no way to know how many probiotics survive by the time you open the bottle. It could be a significant amount, or very little. - Toxin Series "3": Hair Care Products May Be Driving Higher Phthalate Exposure in Women of Color
Phthalate exposure is linked to multiple health problems including birth and reproduction problems, impaired brain development, diabetes, and cancer. Phthalates are endocrine disruptors— meaning they alter the proper functioning of your hormones. Emerging studies suggest that phthalate exposure could increase the risk of developing, or worsen existing, respiratory problems. Hair care products contain fragrances without listed ingredients, which is "one of the many places for phthalates to hide." For centuries, Black women particularly in the U.S. have straightened their hair. They have been exposed to toxins in personal care products from childhood on, as they regularly apply hair relaxers on their hair, and that of their children, for easier maintenance. Black women and other women of color use more hair products than other ethnic groups, which results in elevated levels of phthalates in their urine. A recent Environmental Science and Technology study found that levels of metabolites — substances formed from the breakdown of phthalates — were 10 times higher among Black and Latinx hairstylists than office workers of same heritage. This study adds to a growing body of evidence that women of color — particularly Black women — are disproportionately exposed to phthalates and other dangerous chemicals from hair care products. Many of these products contain fragrances without listed ingredients, which is "one place for phthalates to hide." The researchers also found that hairdressers who performed certain salon services, like chemical straightening, bleaching, and Brazilian blowouts, had almost double the phthalate levels of those who did not. Experts and advocates agree that the findings highlight the need to better regulate what kinds of chemicals are in personal care products. Early Use of Phthalates In Various Industries Phthalates were first developed in the 1920s to make plastics like PVC more malleable and durable. Today, it's impossible to avoid them as they're found in everything from flooring to toys to food packaging. The chemicals are commonly used by cosmetics and hair care product manufacturers to make fragrances and colors last longer, and to make hair more flexible after product is applied, among other uses. Phthalates from plastics leach out into the environment. Their counterparts in beauty products can be inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Pregnant women are considered especially at-risk, with studies showing that prenatal phthalate exposure could affect everything from infants' mental and children's reproductive systems development. Phthalates are not the only toxic chemical that hair stylists are exposed to. Formaldehyde, a known-carcinogen, from hair straighteners is not something anyone needs to be breathing in for multiple hours a day, multiple days a week, all throughout the year. The major problem is that the manufacturers are required to label product ingredients, but they are not required to label ingredients for products designed specifically for salons. While the FDA technically regulates cosmetics, the agency does not approve personal care products — or their ingredients — at all before they are introduced to the market.
- Toxin Series "2": PHTHALATES Are In Fast Food Too!
A 2021 George Washington University study found toxic chemicals in popular fast food items like chicken nuggets, burritos, and more from McDonald’s, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Taco Bell, and Chipotle in the U.S. 🧪 Researchers detected 10 out of 11 potentially harmful chemicals, including phthalates—a group used to soften plastics, known to disrupt the endocrine system and linked to serious health issues. The team also identified replacement plasticizers—chemicals now being used instead of banned or restricted phthalates in food packaging and processing equipment. These plasticizers were widespread in prepared foods from fast food chains, meaning customers are unknowingly consuming unhealthy chemicals with their meals. Researchers gathered 64 fast food items (hamburgers, fries, nuggets, burritos, cheese pizza) from six major chains in San Antonio, Texas, testing for 11 types of phthalates and plasticizers and found: 🔬 81% of the food samples contained the phthalate DnBP, and 70% contained DEHP, both linked to fertility, reproductive, and childhood behavioral disorders. ⚠️ 86% of foods had the replacement plasticizer DEHT, which still requires more research on health impacts. 🍔 Foods with meat (e.g., cheeseburgers, chicken burritos) showed higher chemical levels. 🧤 Chicken burritos and cheeseburgers had the highest DEHT levels—also found in food handling gloves. 🍕 Cheese pizzas had the lowest levels of the tested chemicals. Phthalates and replacement plasticizers are chemicals used to make plastics soft and can migrate out of plastics into the food, which is ingested. Some sources of plastics include food handling gloves, industrial tubing, food conveyor belts and the outer packaging used to wrap fast food meals available in restaurants. Previous research suggests that people who eat home cooked food have lower levels of these chemicals in their bodies, probably because home cooks do not use food handling gloves industrial plastics. Phthalates (pronounced THAL-ates) are a group of chemicals found in hundreds of consumer products. They are primarily used to make polyvinyl chloride (PVC), or vinyl, more flexible and durable. Their stable chemical structure also helps fragrances last longer, making phthalates a common ingredient in perfumes and many personal care products. Let's First See How/Why Phthalates Are Used in Cosmetics? The three primary phthalates historically used in cosmetic and personal care products are: Dibutyl phthalate (DBP): Used as a plasticizer in nail polish to improve flexibility and reduce cracking. Dimethyl phthalate (DMP): Used in hair sprays to create a flexible film that helps prevent stiffness. Diethyl phthalate (DEP): Used as a solvent and fragrance fixative to help scents last longer. According to the FDA, DEP is the most commonly used phthalate in cosmetics and fragrance products. Phthalates are everywhere! Where Else Are Phthalates? Phthalates are commonly added to plastics to increase their flexibility, durability, transparency, and lifespan. Beyond their widespread use in fragrances, they are found in many everyday products, including: Building materials: Vinyl flooring, wall coverings, carpeting, floor tiles, paints, roofing materials, adhesives, and sealants. Electrical products: Wire coatings, cable insulation, and electrical components. Automotive products: Interior trim, seat covers, underbody coatings, and corrosion-resistant components. Medical and pharmaceutical products: Pill and supplement coatings, blood bags, IV tubing, catheters, and other medical devices. Outdoor products: Pool liners, garden hoses, roofing membranes, rain boots, and agricultural products. Printing materials: Printing inks. Textiles: Coated fabrics, luggage, purses, PVC clothing, and so-called vegan leather. Sporting equipment: Various plastic and vinyl components. Household products: Detergents, vinyl gloves, and shower curtains. Children's products: Toys, school supplies, pencil cases, backpacks, erasers, and some diaper and nipple creams. Food packaging: Plastic wrap, shrink films, canned food linings, and fast-food packaging. What Does FDA, CDC, U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), and Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) Say About Phthalates? "Nothing To See Here!" Several reports around the turn of the century shaped the public opinion of phthalates. The National Toxicology Program (expert panel of National Institute for Environmental Safety and Health) concluded in 2000 that phthalates have negligible reproductive risks if any. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report titled "National Report on Human Exposure to Environmental Chemicals" concluded in 2001 that there were no association between the presence of phthalates in human urine and disease. The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) Expert Panel reaffirmed in 2002 its original conclusion (reached in 1985), finding that phthalates are safe as used in cosmetic products. Based on the above mentioned reports, FDA established in 2002 that there was no association between the use of phthalates in cosmetic products and a health risk. Based on this determination, FDA decided that there is no need for regulatory action against cosmetics containing phthalates. In 2013, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) concluded that there is no public health concern with the current uses of phthalates for children and adults, including use in gloves, footwear, wet weather gear, children’s school materials, shower curtains, artificial leather, wall and floor covering, wire and cables, etc. ECHA also concluded that presence of phthalates in food or household dust does not result in a health concern. In 2017, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) found no concerns with the use of phhthalates in such products like coated fabrics (upholstery and artificial leather), pool liners, gloves, PVC clothing, adhesives, sealants and coatings, etc. for children and adults. They also found no concern with the potential presence of phthalates in food and household dust. In 2017, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) confirmed that phthalates can be used in sensitive applications like toys and childcare articles without any restrictions. Note that all these expert panels and agencies were and are still packed with either current or past employees of, or lobbyists for the chemical, pharma and cosmetic industries. They are current or past employees from the industry overseeing the same industries the once worked for. Furthermore, all reports and publications on the subject were funded by industry-sponsored organizations (i.e. CIR) whose members were all manufacturers of phthalates containing products. The situation is no different today. More than 470 million pounds of phthalates are produced or imported in the United States each year. In 2010, the market was still dominated by high-phthalate plasticizers; however, due to growing environmental awareness and perceptions, producers are increasingly forced to use non-phthalate plasticizers. Independent researchers agree that something has to be done about this dangerous chemical toxin. Studies conducted by researchers at George Washington University compared phthalate levels in people who ate home-cooked meals to those who frequently dined out at restaurants, cafeterias and fast-food outlets. On average, people who eat out have nearly 35 percent higher levels of phthalates circulating in their bodies. A 2004 study done at the Harvard School of Public Health found that enteric coatings used on medications and supplements generally consist of various polymers that contain plasticizers, including triethyl citrate, dibutyl sebacate, and phthalates such as diethyl phthalate and dibutyl phthalate. The study consisted of a spot urine sample from a man collected three months after he started taking Asacol, a medication with an enteric coating. The results showed that the concentration of phthalates in his urine was higher than the 95th percentile for males reported in the 1999–2000 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. As evidenced by the indifferent position worldwide agencies are demonstrating, it’s totally up to us, the consumers, to search out phthalate-free products and avoid using foods and goods that contain this serious toxin. Something we all need to be aware of. Santa Ana River Watershed Weather Modification Pilot Program is the actual "cloud seeding program." It is not a conspiracy theory, but an openly published (yet well hidden) government activity... The program is already underway since November 2023 and will continue until April 2027. You can read all the publicly available details on the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority website. All such programs -weather manipulation, cloud seeding, chem trails, sun blocking, etc., etc.- have been ridiculed for decades as conspiracy theories. Yet, our own government agencies, the unelected bureaucrat and technocrats have been systematically lying to us, and destroying the God created balance of the nature. These agencies are the ones causing the climate change, not the common human activity. The target areas are illustrated on the map we downloaded from the same website. It appears that the areas marked with purple are particularly targeted, with special focus on cloud seeding the mountainous areas. According to this map, Riverside is in the heart of the greater targeted area. Hemet/San Jacinto/Idyllwild region where we live is in the South East target region through Spring 2027. There is an AHOG (Automated High Output Ground) generator between Hemet and Perris, most likely on Ramona Express Way. There is also a CNG (Cloud Nuclei Generator) most likely placed in Winchester area. All in the neighborhood. The same government website (Weather Modification/Cloud-Seeding in the Santa Ana River Watershed) declares that SILVER IODIDE particles are mixed with ACETONE, vaporized and released into the atmosphere using ground based seeding systems. There are two such sites in the area, again according to what has been public information available on the website. Gardening season is here. And that means the weeds are also flourishing in full force. Luckily, you don't need to eliminate the weeds with aggressive chemicals. There is a better, natural and non-poisonous way to deal with weeds: The common household product baking soda. The Baking Soda as Natural, Non-toxic Weed Killer Weeds often reproduce in different ways: rhizomes, cuttings, runners They produce many seeds, usually tiny seeds, that have burrs, float, or disperse easily If you pull some weeds out, they might break off and re-sprout Weeds are fast-growing and can usually live in many environments, soils, and conditions Plants must take up water to live, and baking soda prevents them from doing this. Salt is the main ingredient in the common household product baking soda that dehydrates the plants. With baking soda, you can deal with small types of weeds at isolated locations like in between pavers, along the edge of the driveway, or in sidewalk cracks. You need to be careful though when applying baking soda on targeted weeds, as it is a non-selective herbicide, and will also kill small plants and grass. Consequently, it isn't a good idea to use baking soda on lawns, because it would also kill the grass. Baking soda is easy-to-us whether you choose to apply straight out of the box or spray in a water solution. Make sure though to pick a sunny day to apply the baking soda, as rain would wash it off before it had a chance to dehydrates the weeds. When mixing your solution, use one teaspoon of baking soda per cup of water (or 10 tablespoons of baking soda to a gallon of water). If you choose to apply baking soda right out of the box directly onto the weeds, wet the foliage first so that the baking soda sticks to the leaves rather than blowing away. Then, pour approximately 1 teaspoon for each weed. Other Natural Ways of Killing Weeds In addition to using baking soda, there are many other ways to kill weeds naturally. Vinegar: Vinegar is another natural herbicide. For best results, use vinegar that is higher in acetic acid. Boiling water: This is the cheapest way to kill weeds naturally. However, as with vinegar, remember that it is non-selective. Salt: As an alternative to baking soda, you can use salt to kill weeds. and Smothering: You can also smother weeds with black plastic, tarps, etc. This option is ideal for a landscape area where a vigorous weed has taken over, forming a monoculture.
